AREA SELECTION PROCESS
Galactic Sustainability presents host governments with forest preservation and reforestation programs that will preserve and restore forests, strengthen biodiversity, support the local communities, bring needed resources to help transition communal practices to sustainable agriculture and forestry and aid the successful implementation of the host country’s carbon reduction plans, through the creation of carbon credits to be sold on international markets.
Galactic Sustainability’s projects are built around community or private lands, combined with national forests, within key biodiversity areas. These efforts secure the still-forested lands, and phase-in reforestation efforts for those sections of the property which have been deforested and degraded. The blended forest preservation and reforestation efforts restore the historic natural luster of these majestic lands.
PROJECT BUILDING METHODOLOGY
The efforts to preserve and reforest the contemplated lands include significant community support programs, including substantial contributions toward education, health, infrastructure, employment and training, sustainable electrification, and other local communal needs. These programs are implemented in partnership with national authorities, as well as the leadership of the communities.
In order to meet the highest standards and the United Nations requirements, the forest preservation and reforestation projects must endure for one hundred years. For this reason, a strong partnership with the national and local governments, as well as the communities, is essential to prevent human caused deforestation or degradation activities during this time. In each of these years, the project benefits would continue to support local communal, individual and governmental needs.
PROJECT SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT PROCESS
The economic opportunities will include existing local enterprises, as well as newly formed undertakings led by the local communities. Together with the local leaders and community members, Galactic will help facilitate these sustainable development pursuits through an array of assistance services, including helping establish and enhance processing and distribution chains for local goods and services.
